Speaking from experience: What gets you there from here? I have been encouraged to think about ascension and the eternal invisible world of being from an infinite mind as much as possible, during the non-work time I have during the day. It hasn't been easy or fun, as pleasure for me is seeing progress, but I've been experimenting with different approaches, like trying to see myself from the standpoint of an invisible aura/program icon/thought/being, or telling myself from that state of mind not to be afraid of encountering other eternal invisibles that I perceive as people, trusting that they won't be afraid of me. I've had experiences where I put a lot of effort into a good deed (even if I only spent $7.00), where there was a strong sense of being a transparency for good, and that conviction seemed to be golden ruled back. Is there a good strong affirmation or ritual, argument or interior decorating that can help someone like me sense myself more there than here? For instance, I used to wonder if the flaming sword and the cherubim in Genesis 3:24 were invisible arguments to guide us into Eden, but which we mislabel and hold onto. So, the opposite of the sword would be "I will order, unite, nurture" and the cherubim,.. well, beats me. I've been asking this of friends for years, so I thought I'd ask it here. |

Howdy scotttygett-ga, One of the first things I would suggest is to try to rid yourself of the concept of "progress." There is only the state of "being" or the state of "being in the now." As one gains knowledge, and the ability to see things as they truly are, to remove illusions and beliefs from one's own self, then that clarity of vision, or a state of transcendence, will come to you. It is not with work, but rather without work; it is not with an effort, but the lack of effort (effortless); with observing (nonthinking), rather than thinking, that such a state can come to you. Wind does not work to be a breeze; water does not think to flow. Try to know yourself, rid yourself of negative and extraneous thoughts. Try to learn as much about the world around you. This will tell you the differences between yourself (the self) and that which surrounds you. A state of grace appears to come from knowing yourself, realizing you have no limitations (you are infinite), knowing the world, which leads to recognizing opportunities (which are infinite as well), having the abilities, skills and knowledge to use those opportunities, and then acting on those opportunities. At a point, this becomes effortless, so things "just happen." Some applicable quotes. These happen to be from the Jan Marie Dore web site. http://janmariedore.com/html/simplify.html - "Simplify, simplify, simplify" - Henry David Thoreau - "Out of clutter, find simplicity." - Albert Einstein - "In order to seek one?s own direction, one must simplify the mechanics of ordinary, everyday life." - Plato There is still the mundane to handle, but that is something else. Seems like you are trying to find out why you exist. Hope you don't mind seeing it from the point of view of what the Bible has to say. I do not mean what religion we see today has to say, because they have got themselves so muddled with tradition, they are lost. The Bible simply says that there exists a God who is love itself. To share it, He created his Son Jesus as a helper [ Proverbs 8;22-30]. He created angels as messengers, the complete universe including the earth, set up its basic laws, e.g. gravity, the 23 &1/2 degree tilt to establish the seasons, and the consistency of rate of spin etc....just as somewhere for us to live. He commenced us with Adam and Eve [ Genesis] and the final result is a populated earth. He did all this because He wanted to share His love. Its us who have messed it up by disobedience. But we can still get back into His good books by each individual simply obeying. The mosaic law was complicated but Jesus did away with all that when he said, Love God, love your neighbour [Matthew 22;37]. If we all did this there would be no disrespect and even no war. God himself has earned our worship and Jesus' teaching is our guide. Another instruction at Matthew 23;9 points to which religions are really obedient or just doing their own thing. The whole purpose of our existence is summarized at Matthew 28; 19,20. |
