My mother has Blue Cross PP coverage through her teacher's union,
LAUSD, and is getting home care while she wrestles with some mental
issues. She is a Christian Scientist. I saw what I thought was a Blue
Cross ad some months back where they said you could get $10,000 for
something like unspecified care. Up until this time, I would share
with others that Blue Cross was great if you were hit by lightning on
a Thursday. (Incidentally, I called the company about her getting the
new convalescent care coverage that they now provide, but basically,
it was as much as a stay in a hospital, if she could qualify.)
Anyway, then I see the commercial, and I'll be darned if I can find
the web page or other documents to apply for this $10,000.
One year, she had practitioner bills of about $500 and I just threw up
my hands when I saw how it would be to get her reimbursed. If there
are people who take a fee or commission for filing this paperwork, I
wouldn't mind finding out their names, for a tip. But mainly I want
the details on asking for the $10,000. |
