letsgodave --

Here are lines from two consecutive stanzas of a 1989 countryhit:

"There's nothing like a walk in the moonlight
To let love run away with your heart"

"But if you look up you'll see the stars are just too bright to refuse
It's a beautiful night, don't waste it on the blues"

Do these lyrics ring a bell? If not, do you have any other
recollections about the song?

How about "Dancing in the Moonlight"?:

"Everybody's dancing in the moonlight
Everybody's feeling warm and bright"

If that's correct, I'd be happy to post a link to the full lyrics.

Perhaps it's Anne Murray's 1979 tune, SHADOWS IN THE MOONLIGHT. Here's
an exceprt from the lyrics:

"We'll be shadows in the moonlight,
darlin I'll meet you at midnight.
Hand and hand we'll go,
dancin' through the Milky Way"

Let me know if this stikes a ring of familiarity with you.

Re tutuzdad's request for question clarification:

Letgodave, are you sure about the male singer (rather than Anne Murray
or another female singer)? Can you think of any other lyrics, or
other features of the song such as the instruments or the tempo?

This is a reach, but could you be thinking of Van Morrison's "Moondance"?

"Well it's a marvelous night for a moondance"

Good song, too, vpolhemus. And that's the one I thought of posting
before I scrolled down and saw yours.

I'll bet it's right. Lyrics:

Well, it?s a marvelous night for a moondance
With the stars up above in your eyes
A fantabulous night to make romance
?neath the cover of October skies
And all the leaves on the trees are falling
To the sound of the breezes that blow
And I?m trying to please to the calling
Of your heart-strings that play soft and low
And all the night?s magic seems to whisper and hush
And all the soft moonlight seems to shine in your blush

Chorus:
Can I just have one a? more moondance with you, my love
Can I just make some more romance with a-you, my love

Well, I wanna make love to you tonight
I can?t wait ?til the morning has come
And I know that the time is just right
And straight into my arms you will run
And when you come my heart will be waiting
To make sure that you?re never alone
There and then all my dreams will come true, dear
There and then I will make you my own
And every time I touch you, you just tremble inside
And I know how much you want me that you can?t hide

Chorus

Repeat 1st verse

One more moondance with you in the moonlight
On a magic night
La, la, la, la in the moonlight
On a magic night
Can?t I just have one more dance with you my love
