I have a HP48GX scientific calculator for several years and love it even though I'm not much of a mathematician. My question is could something like this not be put on a CD and run on a laptop? I have searched for a long time for the equivalent of the HP48GX that I could run on a computer. Since the computer has much more memory and power than the calculator it seems what I'm looking for should be out there. I realize there's several giant math programs out there but can any of these be actually programmed in RPN (reverse polish notation) like the HP series? I hope I'm overlooking something right in front of me. Is this a dificult thing? Thanks. |

Along with efn-ga, I would guess that the "laptop" in question runs some flavor of Windows. However someone might be interested in an RPN calculator for Linux, so here are a few more links: [RPN calculators for Linux] http://www.tldp.org/linuxfocus/English/January2004/article319.shtml Surveys the field, from text-based to GUI-based HP emulations. [GRPN] http://lashwhip.com/grpn.html Uses an X-Windows interface. In a platform independent vein there are several Javascript-based RPN calculators can be used from a browser, as for example: [JavaScript RPN Calculator] http://www.cfd-online.com/Calcs/rpncalc.html regards, mathtalk-ga |
