I would like to know what the music is in a current TV ad for
Samsonite Spinners. In the ad, you see a lady walking the street with
a red suitcase, graciously dodging obstacles. The music has a 70's
feel to it, I would describe it as quirky easy-listening. It involves
a female voice.

I found out. On the site AdTunes, there's a discussion in the forums.
The artist is Isabella Antena, and the tune is specially written for
the ad.

Just joined up. I was also very curious as to the music/vocals because
it sounded exactly like Sergio Mendes and Brasil '66. Lani Hall was
the vocalist for Mendes' '66 until '72, then went solo. Ms. Antena's
voice is undistinguishable from Hall's in that commercial. Refreshing!

I asked Samsonite Customer Service. Here it the text of their email reply:

Thank you for your inquiry of the song used in our current TV commercial
advertisement .

The name of the song is "Spinner", and it is an original composition by
Fritz Sunderman specifically for Samsonite. The lead singer is Isabelle
Antena.

We appreciate this opportunity to be of service.

Sincerely,
Samsonite Consumer Relations

When I first heard it I though it might be a song by Stereolab. If you
like hip 70's modernist the sound of that ad you might want to check
out some of their music. They have a female singer with a soft,
lilting voice. Some songs with this feel: Cybele's Reverie, Miss
Modular, Metronomic Underground. Great stuff. Get your I-tunes fired
up and listen to the free clips in the music store.

Very cool track/music snip.

If you like this you certainly must have a listen to Elza Soares - Mas Que Nada.

I'm sure you like this also!

P.S. I hope samsonite will release this track. I'm certainly gonna buy it!
