Question ID: 50135
I'm looking for a way to find wine bottle price.
I'd like to know what is the retail price of a 1985 Mill Creek
Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon bottle and further how can I access those
informations?
I also would like to know if this bottle is likely to be drinking now
or if I should wait. And last but not least is the value of this
bottle going to incrase?

Can you tell us:

1. What currency you want the retail price in? E.g. do you want it in
US$$
2. When you refer to accessing information, do you mean that you want
to know how to order/buy this wine online? If yes, in what country
are you based?

Hi there silkwebware...

I'm glad I got a chance to research
this question. It allowed to me to
gain some knowledge of wines and
vintages that I didn't have.

This page of United States vintages
shows the 1985 Cabernet Sauvignon
to be an outstanding year, and it is
also near the middle of the "drink
range" with room to go before the
"drink now range"

Another vintage page shows
the 1985 California Cabernet to be
an 8 out of 10, and already good
to drink, with better examples able
to improve further.

The price could possibly increase
a couple more years if they consider
this vintage to be the "better example"

As far as price goes, I will have to
post the authenticated price as a
clarification because I have found
a large sweep of prices for the 1985
Cabernet Sauvignons from the California
Valleys. It's also 3am right now, and I
probably wouldn't find anyone willing
to discuss Cabernet prices at this time ;o)

This page has a range of $90 to nearly
$200 a bottle for typical Napa Cabernets.

This page does have a bottle from
Alexander Valley for $275

]

Here is a bottle for a bit more:
GROTH VINEYARDS
1985 Cabernet Sauvignon, Reserve
"Vintage of the Century" Robert Parker 100 Points $300.00 (750ml)

Here is a nice article that is talking about
1985 vintages from California:

]
I left it in "cache" format so the keywords would be
highlighted.

2 more Diamond Creek vintages from 1985

Here is the homepage for Mill Creek Vineyards
[ http://www.mcvonline.com/ ]
and their page with a map showing their relation
to other vineyards
And here is some history from their page

Finding the exact price for a 1985 Mill Creek
Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon will probably
require me to contact a source by phone, or in
person.

Hi vriffier...

I wish you would have waited for
my price clarification before rating
me... but that's ok.

My answer was written at 3am... I had
no one to contact at that moment.

But now, it's 3pm, and I just called
the winery, Mill Creek Vineyards, and
spoke with the owner.

She said a bottle of 1985 Mill Creek
Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon if served
in their wine tasting room, would go
for $45 a bottle.

Since this was off from the other
prices I found for regional wines,
I inquired about the difference in
price range. She said, it could
possibly be higher elsewhere, but
that is what they would ask for there.

-Search Technique-

Called:
Mill Creek Vineyards
1401 Westside Road P.O.
Box 758 Healdsburg, CA 95448
Phone: (707) 431-2121
email : tr@mcvonline.com

I hope since this clarification answers
the question of price, it would suffice
to fill in those 2 missing stars in my
rating. ;o)

Thank you for the response but the main question which was the price
wasn't answered. So I would say it's nice to have some information
about this wine but I still don't know what I was looking for

For the currency I meant USD
For the information I meant where did you find it.
I'm in the US right now. I have some of those bottles and would like
to know how much they're worth. And if it time to drink them now and
or if I should wait.
And are we expecting an increase price on this kind of bottles

Finding wine prices and ratings is a fairly simple operation in the
USA. Try using a national wine database, like the one found at
http://www.winelust.com/wine_finder/index.htm.

Good Luck!
