Hi apong68,

A little more information might help us answer this for you.

Have you set up any automatic withdrawals on your account? Might a
family member have set them up for you?

What do the line items say on your bank statement?

Have you checked with your bank for the withdrawals you don't
understand?

Do these withdrawals occur every month? Are they the same?

You can usually ask your bank for further details, that won't be much
extra info, but it might help. Also try to instruct the bank to stop
these debits? Sometimes companies use different names to their trading
name when they take a debit, for example the name of the parent
company.

To clarify this:
Is the withdrawal being done without your approval???
Is it being done by EFT (Electroonic Funds Transfer) or a printed
check ???

Any withdrawal will have a bank code and account number, which can be
tracked.
If this is being done without your approval, notify your bank
IMMEDIATELY and have them stop it, and reverse all unauthorized
transactions. Unfortunately any person who knows your bank code and
account number (ie: anyone you ever paid by check) can replicate a
check and deposit it, and your bank will usualy pay it, unless you
complain. (That's how EFT, check by phone or fax payments work)

You didn't give enough information for a specific answer so here is
some general information.

Unauthorized withdrawals are a criminal situation. Go to the police
immediatly and make a report.

To protect your money close the account after discussing this with
your banker to see what advice they can offer (you have to be careful
that you don't pile up bounced checks). If your bank can't tell you
who is taking the money out close the account and get another bank,
they have to know where they are paying the money.

Those are just general comments, I can't believe that your bank won't
do anything to help you, such as blocking all further payments to that
person or company.

Do you have a debit card on that account? That's one way people can
get your account number which you may not have thought of. Another way
is if you ever ordered anything online or over the phone and didn't
have or want to use a credit card so you gave them the numbers off the
bottom of a check.

Have you ever requested a "free" credit report? or something similar?
If so you were probably automatically signed up for some form of
"credit protection" service which would be billing you monthly until
you discover them.
