I am looking for a Windows XP screen saver that is similar to the
XP-bundled "My Pictures Slideshow". This screen saver will display my
personal pictures from my hard drive. The most important criteria are
to display the images randomly and to use an effect that zooms in on
the picture and pans accross it (while it is displayed, not a
transition). If there are multiple programs that
meet these criteria I want the most affordable one. Where can I find
this program?

P.S. I was hoping that Picassa2 would do this. Hopefully future
versions will. Thanks!

Geostrykyr,

Would any of these screensaver programs meet your needs?

gPhotoShow Free 1.6

A+ Screensaver Creator 3.4

I downloaded and tried both gPhotoShow Free 1.6 and A+ Screensaver
Creator 3.4. Neither of these provided the effect I am looking for.
The effect displays the picture so that picture is bigger than the
screen's viewable area. The view then pans and zooms so that the
entire picture is visible. I saw this effect on a Mac computer - I
believe it came prebundled as the screen saver.

I remember hearing the name of the display effect I am looking for
(panning and zooming across the picture). I think it started with a
"G". Getting the name of this effect will be sufficent to answer the
question.
