I'm looking for statistics (with sources) on the size of the market
for astrology books in the UK - e.g. how many books published per
year, year on year growth of the market for, say, the last 4 years,
yearly UK sales of astrology related books, total market value.
Related statistics (numbers of people in the UK accessing
astrology-related websites, for example) would also be helpful. I'm
also looking for the same sort of statistics for the UK 'Mind Body
Spirit' book market as a whole, by which I mean the general market for
mind, body, spirit or 'new age' type books, including astrology. The
types of books sold at Amazon.co.uk's Mind Body Spirit section, in
other words.

In addition, I'd like the circulation figures for the following UK
magazines:  Prediction and Horoscope.

Finally, I'd like to know where I can find out, preferably free of
charge, the numbers of copies sold of any particular book.

I couldn't find an answer to your question (but if to quote Fox
Moulder, it's out there). However, as a fellow interessant in the
answer to such a question, may I note:
(1) I recommend Glenn Rupert (1992) for US data (in Lewis and Melton,
_Perspectives on the New Age_). Its a 4-billion-dollar market, at
least.

(2) Maybe your looking in the wrong direction. If Rupert has data like
that, why wouldn't Paul Heelas, Irving Hexham, or E. Barker? If you
contact them, they might remember a research done in the UK concerning
this question (and if you do find an answer, I'd also appreciate
knowing the answer :-)
