Hi Marston,

There are two ways you can do this.

First (image method): Open the Start menu, then open the Programs
menu. There should be a PRINT SCREEN key on your keyboard (may be Prnt
Scrn). Press this key and you will copy an image of the screen to the
clipboard. Then you can paste this image into the Paint program, or
some other graphics program (like Photoshop). From there, you can edit
and print the picture of the programs menu (or any other item on the
screen).

Second (text method): Windows ME will have a "Start Menu" folder in
Documents and Settings for each user. Find the "Start Menu" folder in
Windows Explorer, then find the "Programs" directory. Enter the
"Programs" directory. Once you have found this directory, you can go
to Start then Run. Type "cmd" or "command" in the Run box.

Then type:
cd <PATH>
Replace <PATH> with the "Address" of the Programs folder from
Explorer. This will be something like "C:\Documents and Settings\All
Users\Start Menu\Programs\" but may be different for your particular
computer.

Then type DIR and you can print this listing by right-clicking on the
text window and selecting "Copy All". Paste this into Notepad (or some
text editor) and print it.

I suggest the first method if you just want an image. Hope this helps!

Jasonm -- I've tried both ways. I'm not particularly adept at these
things. I got the directory for the program files listed in the DOS
window, but clicking in this window didn't bring up a dialog box. On
the other one, I got it pasted into my MGI Photo Suite program, but
couldn't get it to print.

In the DOS prompt version, you need to right-click in the DOS window,
or on the title bar of the window. This should bring up a menu where
you can "copy all." From there you can paste into a text editor.

For the image version, if you have managed to copy the screen and
paste it into a graphics program, you should be able to print very
easily. Try using the built-in Paint program (under the "Accessories"
in the Start Menu). Also make sure your printer is properly configured
(under "Printers" in Control Panels or the Start Menu) . Can you print
other things?

I couldn't get it to work, but that was my problem; not the
responder's. The directions were clear and explicit.

Jason -- My main problem was that I had so many programs loaded that
I couldn't see all of them. I got around this by going to settings
then to taskbar and stary menu then selecting scrolling instead of
columns. I can't see everything at once, but can at least scroll
through all. Thanks for your info.
