Ladies and Gentlemen I would love to know the name of a book I read some time ago but which I have since mislaid. The book is a true story of a couple who lived in Australia and visit the Peoples Republic of China in (I think) 1963. At the time Australia is one of the first Western countries to have an agreement with the Peoples Republic of China to allow Australians to do tours of the PRC. I remember few details about the book except the story narrated by the wife also happens to be an American citizen. Before entering China she does not mention that she is American (I am assuming that she like her husband has an Australian passport) During her visit , she is concerned that her Chinese hosts will find out that she is an American (as Sino - US relations were to say the least a bit touchy at the time) As it turns her Chinese tour guides have known all along about her American background. The only other details I can remember is that the book was probably written sometime in the mid-late eighties and the name of the Australian Tour operator/Travel Agency began with an "O".
