Hi...I've got a much needed vacation coming up in the end of July/August. I want to go somewhere tropical & cultural (thus no Hawaii), with nice beaches, beautiful water, good food...etc. While I am there, I want to learn how to surf - this could be a 'surf camp' or something less structured. Can you suggest places to go? No restriction on location, although I do not want to stay in the states. Bonus if there is decent diving. Double bonus if prices are not as expensive as, say, Tahiti. Keep in mind when I will be travelling - August - as I *think* that is a bad season for much of Asia (correct me if I am wrong). |

Surfer's Paradise, Queensland, Australia. Head out for a day trip to the Great Barrier Reef for snorkelling/diving. |

Make that Surfers' Paradise. Just a grammatical blunder there - they do let you surf more than one at a time. |

http://www.tamarindosurfschool.com/ http://www.tamarindobeach.net/ http://www.witchsrocksurfcamp.com/ There is no "best time" to visit us! We have two seasons, the dry season (November to May) and the rainy season (June to October). The rainy season equates to 1-2 hours of rain, 2-3 days/week. Travel further south in Costa Rica (Jaco, Domincal, Pavones), you can expect 4-5 hours of rain each day. The rainy season is the favored season for locals living in our region of Costa Rica, everything is green and beautiful. The dry season has amazing weather as well. Its really up to you, when can you make it down here?? |
