Hi There ! My business partner is getting married Saturday, July 30 near Bend, Oregon. This is approximately 200 miles east of Portland, Oregon. He is looking for an Episcopalian priest within driving distance. The wedding coordinator has already found a lady Episcopalian priest in the area willing to perform the ceremony. But my partner is an East Coast blue-blooded dinosaur; he only wants a male priest. (He also told me to knock off the altar boy jokes. heh heh heh) A 5-star answer would be 4 possibilities within driving distance of Bend, Oregon. All comments greatly appreciated ! ron | |

Ron -- Did it succeed? And did you ever build the airstrip? I'm in need of someplace to fly to maintain currency ;=) --- For some reason, the Episcopal Church has virtually all of its parishes in the western portion of the state. They have a church in Boring, OR -- but none listed in Bend: http://www.diocese-oregon.org/churches/map_north.htm However, they do have a complete list of priests, including those who are retired and a number have e-mail addresses: http://www.diocese-oregon.org/clergy.htm It doesn't seem possible to find 1 or 2 options, let alone four. Suggestion: send an e-mail to five or six of the nearest possible priests, requesting a candidate. Best regards, Omnivorous-GA |

Hi Omnivorous! 1. Thanks for the priest answer. Just what I meeded. 2. As for the airstrip, I am making progress. I made a scouting visit to Brewster County and El Paso County in Texas last month. Must confess I'm still intrigued with the idea of doing this airstrip unofficially, in the middle of nowhere. Not sure I want the government inspectors looking at my Caterpillar work. 3. Near Alpine, Texas I noticed a rancher had simply bulldozed a grass strip just off the highway. If he got the required permits, I'll eat my hat. :-) 4. Thanks, as always! ron |

Myoarin... I posted my comment as a joke because last year Ron asked a question here about where to get a suit dry cleaned fast because he had forgotton to take his in. He was scheduled to attend a wedding in a matter of hours.... BTW: a Researcher answered and all turned out well : ) Steph53 |

Steph53-ga, thanks for the elucidation. My comment on camisoles got lost in the general demise there, although it was really harmless, at least in comparison to several things that occurred to me to say. Anyway... Good luck, Ron, |

steph53, heh heh heh I learned my lesson last year. Now I keep one suit and one pair of socks clean at all times. The rest of my wardrobe, of course, is still encased in the clothes compost pile. hee hee hee ron |
