Generally speaking it means equipment for use by very large
organisations. How large? This depends on who you ask. Some companies
will say a business with 500 employees is an enterprise, others
believe that you need to have thousands to be an enterprise. Small
businesses with 200 or less people are unlikely to be categorised as
an enterprise.
Hope that helps.

Enterprise --
The entire organization, including all of its subsidiaries. It implies
a large corporation or government agency, but it may also refer to a
company of any size with many systems and users to manage.

Enterprise means all inclusive: the entire company. In practice, the
terms "enterprise," "company," "corporation" and "organization" are
used synonymously.

You may have heard the terms "enterprise class", "enterprise data", or
"enterprise server" in reference to computers, this means the machines
in question include hardware/software that is centralized and offers a
high degree of speed and reliability.

Generally Enterprise Technology would refer to all of the
cross-functional IT needs of an organization. For example, a bank may
have divisional (or deparmental) IT functions for Investments,
Branches, Internet services, etc. Enterprise Technology would tie all
of these functions together, manage their interoperability and may
even be run by a specific group that weaves together knowledge from
each of these groups to support and drive the organizations IT goals.
