I'm interested in learning more about the test gauntlet system
described in this blog.

It's just a checkin system that serialized all the code checkins and
validate them before committing to the repository (CVS).  It's used in
Microosft by various code developer teams:

Because this is an internal tool, there won't be any info on this
(unless someone wants to get sued by Microsoft).  Benefits are the
usual expected code management stuff (ie, someone cannot check in a
set of bad code that hinders everyone else's progress).
