The following message from GA that includes my complaint explains my problem.
Does anyone else have a similar problem? My "window" seems to have moved to
9 to 11 PST, yesterday and today.
Does anyone else have this problem`? Users in Germany, Europe,
elsewhere around the world? During the period when I cannot post
comments, I have been able to post questions.
Please comment if you recognize a the same problem or have a
suggestion for why this is so. If you have a real answer, I hope you
will also address it directly to GA, but I will be happy to pay a
little for it, not much, since I expect that the answerer will have
GA-insider knowledge - no search project.
I hope that doesn't sound unfair.
Thank you for your reports. We are investigating this access problem.
Sincerely,
The Google Answers Team

Greetings,
I have asked this before - during the recent spamming flurry - why can
I only post comments during a short period each day. today, 18 - 19.30
in Germany,
9 - 10.30 PST (if both are now on daily saving time).. This cannot
result from system overload, it seems, since 1) Google has ample
capacity, and 2) the problem occurs in the early morning hours in USA
when traffic must be less.
The problem seems to have become more acute in the last couple of
weeks. There must be an explanation. The apparent "window" today of 1
and 1/2 hour, possibly in sync with the clock, suggests a system. Two
days ago, the "window" seemed to be from 7:30 to 9:30 PST.
Dues this result from an access control to Germany? I can ask other
German GA-users. |

Probono,
That could be true. Do you have any evidence (personal experience)
for your 10 comments/day rule? IF that were the case, GA is not
coming out and saying so.
But then I wonder how the block is timed: 24 hours after my first of
ten comments the previous day? Actually, I think that I posted more
than 10 coments yesterday, two to one question, and one that was
deleted (with others on the camasole Q) but I got no email from GA
saying that it had been, as I once did in the past.
The question was immediately locked by a researcher, who then stole
away without asking for or suggesting a clarification.
If there is such a rule, GA would do itself and posters a service by announcing it.
Any further idea, anyone?

Thanks Freddy,
didn't know about g...gle checking questions that way, though wondered
about the disappearing practice of not typing the name out. Thanks.
And thanks for the tip about connection from Germany, but that is not
the problem, sometimes a little slow, but the problem is purely with
posting comments.
I tried to count yesterdays, there were at least 11, and at least one
that was deleted.
And yes, I was expecting that some of the more eager posters would
report if they had experienced my problem, or PLEASE confirm that
they know that they have posted many more comments in one day and not
hit the limit that Probono suggests.

Bryan-Probo;
The window was 9 to 10:30 PST today, with 15 comments - all highly
intelligent and helpful, needless to say. Just the 16th one with the
suggestion that it could be an April Fool's Joke got blocked ...
Still no reply from google answers (are you reading me, google?)
cheerio!

Thanks Freddy and Bryan, at least I can post clarifications to relieve
the frustration.
I may have been moving too fast for the system to catch me yesterday,
pasting pre-written comments, but now it has occurred to me that my
domain-managing son has established a couple of other email-addresses
for me in case one got spammed. I just need to open a new account and
then I can let fly with both barrels ....
maybe...
I cannot believe that there are not other "prolific posters" who would
have hit the "ceiling" if there is one, or are you saying you have,
Bryan?
But others must also have, and I would have thought that the question
would have elicited sympathetic if not explanitory comments.
Grüße, Have a goo' day, respectively, "Put" My(your, his)oarin
(can't find my joke on that)

I was wrong before. It was the 16th one.
If there is no new comment by me "No. 16" then it does seem that 15 is
the max. per 24 hours.

THE ANSWER IS ...!
There are some statistics our friendly and helpful g-a advisors do not
release to the public. So I will try to ration my postings, and close
the question.
