The scandal now leaking into public consciousness is what happens when
the nation's hard-won anti-monopoly laws are winked at. When
manufadturing corporations dance around monopoluy laws, jail happens.
Professional baseball had better shape up, or it could lose monopolyu
privileges -- in value, next to the right to print money.

What government gives, government can take away.

"Question: What is the prevelance of steroids in baseball?"

Statistics on MLB have been kept since the 1880's. To date, 17 perfect
games have been pitched. The earliest in 1880, the most recent in
2004. From 1880 to 1968, 10 perfect games were pitched (88 yrs./10
pg's). Since then, 7 more have been recorded (1981 to 2004, 23 yrs./7
pg's). Expansion baseball has diluted talent having some effect.

All of the home run records have been eclipsed by contemporary
players, with few "old timers" still on the list. Again, expansion
accounts for part of that. Every other baseball stat that requires
strength and stamina has similarly been affected.
