I need to know what the images/writing on the old iraqi 250 dinar mean. http://www.islamicbanknotes.com/Newnotes/Iraq-2002.htm <- the one at the bottom of the page. Specifically, what does the writing say/stand for, why is the dome of the rock on it etc. Need to know by Monday night April 4th. | |

Hi ambicion6, Firstly, I would like to apologize for any confusion I may have caused in my clarification. The Arabic translation for Rock Dome is written above the English (Rock Dome) on the bottom note of the first page you provided. http://www.islamicbanknotes.com/Newnotes/Iraq-2002.htm The text in the purple rectangle means Central Bank of Iraq. Under that is "250 dinars" written in words. Beneath that it says "bank note produced by legal tender". Then it is signed by the Governor (Muhafiz), presumably by the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq. Under this, next to the number 1422, there is an Arabic "h" signifying the Islamic "Hijri" year. Next to the number 2002, there is an Arabic "m" meaning "Miladi", which is the calendar that is used in the West. I hope this is helpful. If you have any questions regarding my answer please don't hesitate to ask before rating. Best regards, Rainbow |
