I'm trying to find a very specific type of screen-grabbing program for
Windows XP, and coming up empty. Here are my requirements:
1. It must immediately initiate a screen grabbing session via a hotkey
and/or a simple click on a "System Tray" icon (a hotkey that just
opens the application is not good enough)
2. It must allow me to either a) allow me to grab a specific area of
the screen (drawn with my mouse), or b) take a screen grab of the
entire screen, then allow me to crop it - preferably with a zoom
capability.
3. Allow me to resize the image - in a manner that looks good when
shrunk down (e.g. pixel resampling)
4. Once I've cropped and resized the image, I must be able to choose
from a list of predefined (by me) FTP destinations (including a remote
path) and upload the image with a name of my choice.
5. All this must be extremely stable and user-friendly, with minimal
extraneous features (somehow almost always a problem with Windows
software, but rarely so with Mac software)
6. It must be free or under $20 for a perpetual license.
The overall goal here is to enable me to quickly screen grab
interesting things and send them to my web server, so I can blog about
them. I've always had to do with with multiple programs, and would
just love it if there were ONE program that could do all these various
parts.
There is a Mac OS X program very similar to what I'm trying to achieve
here, called ImageWell, but I need this software for Windows XP:

I won't pay someone to develop a new program to meet these needs, but
if you choose to do so, and I like how it works, I'll certainly pay
$20 for a copy! Note that saying "I'll make it!" doesn't qualify for
the Google Answers fee. The Answers fee will only qualify if you
point me to an existing program that I like. Thanks! |
