I have booked the owners suite on the norwegian dawn cruise ship...
and I understand that I have butler and concierge services available
to me. I would like to know exactly what that means and exactly what
priviliges it entitles me to and how to go about having my requests
known . the brochure is vague and I would like detailed information as
to exactly what the suite looks like and what I get for booking it. (
i.e. champagne upon arrival, canapes in the evening?, hot tub on the
verandah?, dinner menus from all restaraunts available for insuite
dining?...etc...)

Who Gets It? Guests who book suites on all ships; mini-suites are
included on Norwegian Star, Dawn and Sun.

What's Included? Concierge service for reservations at specialty
restaurants, spa services and shore excursions. Guests in the top
level suites (Penthouse to Garden Villa) get extra services including
a butler, preferred seating in the showrooms, special L'Occitaine bath
products.

Extra Special? For guests in Penthouse and above, the concierge will
make reservations for shore-side as well as onboard activities that
are not on NCL's roster of excursions (such as on-land tee times,
restaurant reservations, or spa appointments).

GRATUITIES
Unlike most other ships in the cruise industry, there is no required
or recommended tipping on NCL America or Norwegian Cruise Line ships.
Guests should not feel obliged to offer a gratuity for service that is
generally rendered to all guests.

However, all of the staff is encouraged to "go the extra mile", and so
they are permitted to accept cash gratuities entirely at the
discretion of the guests who wish to acknowledge particular staff
members for exceptional or outstanding service. In other words, there
is genuinely no need to tip but you should feel free to do so if you
have a desire to acknowledge particular individuals. Also, certain
staff positions provide service on an individual basis to only some
guests. NCL encourage's those guests to acknowledge good service from
these staff members with appropriate gratuities. For example, for
guests purchasing bar drinks the recommended gratuity is 15 percent.
Similarly, for guests using concierge and butler services, NCL
recommend's they consider offering a gratuity commensurate with
services rendered.

Live From The Dawn

There IS VIP embarkation for Full Suite cruisers, i.e. AB, AA and of
course Garden Villa. Look for the sign that says V.I.P. The NCL
staffer will ask if you are a Latitudes member and if not, they will
check your room number to see if you qualify for this priority
boarding. Going this route saved me at least an hour in the
embarkation process.

I am in a penthouse suite which is great. Ruth is the concierge and
Lani is the butler. Ruth has been amazing in getting us reservations
at specialty restaurants, shore excursions, etc.

Still waiting for those 3/20 DAWN reviews

When we were on the Dawn previously, we had Butler/Concierge. The
Concierge automatically left any VIP tickets for anything coming up.
If you don't have them, CALL and they will get you tickets on the
first Tender. There will still be a line to get on the Tender, but not
to get your ticket. You will be one of the first 250-300 people or so
off the tender and there will be plenty of chairs w/umbrellas for you!

Wow, that looks grand!
I think you better ask the cruise company.  Like in any hotel, if the
champagne is there waiting for you, it is a compliment of the ship. 
If it isn't, it most probably goes on your bill, but the butler will,
no doubt, be quick to bring it, and will be happy to tell you about
meals, etc.
The concierge (in a hotel, the gentleman with crossed keys on his
lapels) will help you with any requests about services and activities
on board, and anything else that you could want  - with in reason and
his powers.  A personal tour of the bridge, galley, laundry, (?)
should be no problem for you.
But, since you have asked about the services, I expect that you know
that those who serve you in the owner's suite and elsewhere will be
expecting tips at the end of the voyage appropriate to the suite  -
and to that of their service, of course.

Wow, keep rainbow's answer as a checklist and make sure that the
bathrobes are really "upgraded"!
Oh, you might leave descretely the "Suite AA" list somewhere where the
butler or maid could see it.  They'll think you are a company or
travel agency inspector and let the word get around ...
Then you'll really get the "owner's" service!

I am still looking forward to going. I realize that sometimes strange
events happen in life but you have to keep "living"...
