Hi,
I am using Windows XP Professional, with Service Pack 2.
I want to know why I dont have 'wireless link' in my Control Panel?
And is there a way to enable/install this module?

This is not the case of not having any wireless connections, I've been
using a bluetooth dongle on and off with my machine from original XP,
then service pack 1, and now service pack 2.

I do have drivers for my bluetooth, but they seem to have problems
with SP2 - because apparently microsoft bluetoth drivers conflict with
WIDCOMM drivers, however that would be fine, if I could actually get
these MS-bluetooth drivers (Important!) which apparently are configurable through
'Wireless link' in control panel (Important!)

I can't seem to find an answer @ Microsoft Knowledge base.
If you need any more information, I will be happy to provide.

Thanks for looking, and an answer will be greatly appriciated!

Hi there Kash,

Couple of quick questions:

1. Do you see your Bluetooth connection in My Network Places?

2. If you see the connection in MNP, do you still need to see the
connection in Control Panel?

(I can't see why you would, because you can right click and configure
your settings from My Network Places.)

Here's a link that discusses configuring BT from MNP as well as the Sys Tray:

Let me know if this answers your question, and I'll post it as such.

Thanks!

Wireless in Control Panel refers to wireless networking (i.e.
802.11a/b/g). If you don't have a wireless network card, this would be
useless to you anyway.

The actualy item in Control Panel is Wireless Network Setup Wizard. It
shows up under Network and Internet Connections in Category Mode.

I am having the same problem we use all IBM laptops (models - T4*) and
some of them have wireless link icon in control panel as well as
wireless network setup wizard icon. There are some however which have
wireless installed and no wireless icon in the control panel - I need
this to configure infrared connection with a mobile. I am really
struggling to find how to get this wireless link icon in.....
