Not sure the question was answered; the question was: what products (or brands) within those foods have lowest sodium content per serving |

HI, thanks for what you have provided. I am satisfied with the answer for olives, though left wondering if there is a green olive low in salt as well. I am also satisfied with the pickes answer. I am left somewhat unsatisfied, possibly through no fault of your own with the following products. 1. Hot Dogs-- You have been kind enough to offer an alternative, namely, summer or beef sausage. Two things:A. Are you very confident there are no low salt hot dogs? B. The sausage is not low salt at all. 30% lower than normal sausage would still probably be 700+ mg., though I have no way of knowing for sure, because the mg of sodium is not listed. 2. Beef Jerky-- Ahah!! Excellent. Low salt jerky! This example, however is very pricy. Can we do better? 3. Deli meat--You offer the link to the home-delivery company of peapod. The issue is, they do not deliver to my area. I did discover a VERY interesting and potentially exciting brand, Boar's Head. I checked out their sight and they offer a variety of low salt products including ham, deli meats and other meats. I have yet to ascertain my accessability to thier products. I will call their customer service department and see if I have any options. I have also been unable to obtain prices for thier products. Perhaps Whole Foods will carry them. By the way, thanks for the Whole food link, although it was almost a little too comprehensive. In short, I need time to digest this information before rating it or deciding If it is suffecient for my needs. I wish a had a few more choices for each product, a easy-to-read format or chart with a breakdown of the item, the sodium quanity, price, and how I can obtain item from the St. LOuis, Missouri area. Perhaps I am wanting too much? |
