I use Outlook Express 6 and have recently incurred a script error
message; I do not know how, which prevents me from printing my emails
directly from the page. I can save messages etc and print from other
progs. eg. my documents. All other printing systems appear ok.The
script error message reads as follows.
                         SCRIPT ERROR
LINE 1344
CHAR 1
ERROR Unspecified Error
CODE 0
URL res://C:\WINDOWS\system32\shdoclc.dll/preview.dlg

Hi terryreish,

I think one of these solutions will work for you -

1) See post # 4
http://forums.devshed.com/t133545/s.html

2) Start > Run and then type: regsvr32 shdocvw.dll
http://www.askmehelpdesk.com/forum/archive/t-1804.html

3) In Internet Explorer, go to "View", then down to "Encoding", [make
sure that 'auto-select' is NOT selected, if it is un select it] then
select "Unicod (UTF-8)"
Repeat the same process for Outlook Express.

Please let me know how it goes so I'll know whether to post the answer
or search further.

Good luck!

Response to hummer-ga, question ref. ID 504363

Thank you for responding with the 3 options. Tried options 2 and 3 to
no avail. Option 1, the forum, provided a common suggestion I have
seen on several screens ie. to reset the "sytem restore". I have
already tried this on 2 separate occassions with no joy. However I
decided to reset at a much earlier date ( desperation at this point ).
Lo and behold it has worked. Not quite the way I would have liked
since I still do not know the cause of the problem and my desktop is
now missing previously downloaded files / progs. No serious damage
done so onwards and upwards. Many thanks for your efforts.

Try downloading and installing the latest version of your printer
driver. The application uses the driver to figure out how it's going
to appear on paper.

I had the same problem. I tryed system restore too but I had to go
alot further back from when the problem started. I tryed everything
including help from IT friends with no luck. Thanks for the help, I
was about to reinstall Windows but this resolved the problem much
quicker.
