I have a dear friend who is a "Pinky & the Brain" fan. I'd like to find a graphic of these two characters large enough to print on photo paper that I can then use as the face of a clock. I know he'd love it, but the graphic has to be clean and large enough (say, 2000x2000 pixels) to keep the print from being grainy. I've searched everywhere I can find, but have had no luck finding anything over about 500 px, no where near acceptable. I've also thought of trying to buy a poster and cut out the applicable portion, but every one I've found is too big. Can anyone help? Thanks. | |

I have done something similar to your project and offer the following suggestion: - Use a digital camera to take a picture of the poster at the largest resolution size. - Be sure that the poster and the camera are parallel to each other (so that there won't be any distortions). - Take several pictures to be safe. If you want, try different lighting, distance and settings to get the best results. - Load the pictures into the computer. Pick the best one. - Edit the picture until you're happy with how it looks. (ie, making the colors solid, etc.). - Save the picture (so you can use it again later if you want to). - Resize the picture so that it will fit on the photo paper. - Print it and have fun making the clock. Good luck! |

Pinky and the Brain also ran as a comic book series for while (27 issues, I think). A comic book cover typically runs just a hint over 6.5 inches wide by 10 inches tall. The shiny cover stock might provide a suitable image for you or give you some images to collage together. You might check a local comic shop for back issues which are likely to run $2 or $3 each. Ebay is probably your best answer for finding issues if you don't have a comic shop nearby. There are also a number of comic back issue dealers online. Either choice will incur an additional shipping expense and take additional days or weeks to arrive. Keep this in mind so you still have time to complete the project by your own established deadline. |
