Where can I download county/city sales tax rates for all the 50 states
in the US. Does the government provide such rate tables in any format
that can be used to calculate sales tax for products I sell.

Alternatively, is there any service that you send a URL with your city
name/zip-code and get back the sales tax rate? You can see a sample of
such URL provided by the State of Ohio:
https://thefinder.tax.ohio.gov/StreamlineSalesTaxWeb/Upload/UploadInstructions.aspx

Is there a government URL that offers such a service or table to download?

The sales tax rates source must provide constant updates.

Hi eagle6,

I haven't been able to locate anything that fits the exact criteria
you have requested. However, I have found the following tools which
may suit your purpose:

Sales Tax Calculator
https://thestc.com/STcalc.htm

Online Sales Tax Calculator
https://thestc.com/RateCalc.stm

Sales Tax Clearinghouse also provides a table of state tax rates and
Department of Revenue webpages:

Alternatively, you may find one of these products useful:

Vertex Sales Tax RateLocator

BNA Software

Waiting to hear your views.

Best regards,

Thank you for your response,

It is my understanding that provided links require software from those
vendors to get sales tax rates on a per request basis. What I really
need is a database table of any format that I can download
periodically and update my application. Do you know of any other site
that offers such a service. Preferrebly I would be interested in raw
information from the government.

The information I provided in my clarification was all I was able to
locate. Hopefully another researcher will have better luck.

Best regards,

Same sorta question here:

I doubt you can find anything like that for free. Which is a shame,
because all of the information is freely available, just not
consolidated. I suppose I could whip up some script or program that
searches all available state databases, but I wouldn't want to
maintain it if any formats or URLs changed.
