I have a Weltron 2001 model 8 track player. The radio and reception are great, but the 8 track does not work. The "track changing" light changes through the cycle of 1 through 4 when you push the track button, but there does not appear to be any movement of the tape. I'm trying to find out how to best fix a player, and am looking for direct information about this player or am willing to reference how to fix another player. I am iterested in a web site which provides info on how to fix which might include photographs of the "innards" of an 8 track system. I am not interested in how to fix the tapes or tape cartridges. The more that the instruction is "step by step", the better. I do not expect you to give me the instructions (although that would be okay), but good reference web sites would fulfill the requirement of payment. |

Thank you for this great question, it brought back loads of 8-track memories! I've found some information to help you troubleshoot your player, and also some information on how the heads work. 8-track Heaven http://www.8trackheaven.com/playfix.html How does your player not work? A list of problems, and possible solutions. 8-track Heaven http://www.8trackheaven.com/work.html How the tapes and players work, including information on the heads, and how they move. PentaStarPower http://pentastarpower.com/8track.html This is a great reference, with an entire 8-track repair manual online, including photos of the 'innards.' 8-track Shack http://home.attbi.com/~dkgibson3/tracks/repair.htm If you can't fix it yourself, here's someone who can help. Keep on Trackin' http://keepontrackin.mybravenet.com/answers.htm#belt If you need a new belt, here are some locations where you can buy them. Weltron 2001 http://antiqueradio.org/welt01.htm Here's an interesting article about your model, including a shot of the electronics out of the case. I could not find a manual for your specific model, but these resources should help you troubleshoot it, and get it working again. If I can clarify my answer for you before you rate it please let me know! Thank you, and good luck with your player. nvwriter-ga | |
