I'm seeking the title of a particular film that I saw as a child in
the 1960's or early 1970's. The film was shown on Irish television. I
can only remember two scenes from the film. One scene involved a man
on horseback chasing a woman on foot. A subsequent scene involved the
woman applying the flat part of a hot knife-blade to the back of the
same man as he lay prone. It seemed to be some sort of therapy or
healing process.
I am willing to pay twenty dollars for the answer to this question

Do NOT pay for this answer!

There are many knowledgeable people on the IMDb. I found the title of
a film (Dirkie) within two days that had haunted me for 30 years, by
asking on the 'I Need To Know' message board.

Here it is: http://www.imdb.com/board/bd0000001/threads/

Hello,

The two scenes remind me of the film, "The War Lord", which starred
Charlton Heston as medieval knight-warlord Chrysagon de LaCrue,
holding a remote marsh village for a French Duke.

There is a scene in which Chrysagon is out on horseback and encounters
a village maiden by the name of Bronwyn, and he becomes infatuated
with her. In a later scene, she is called to his fortress chamber to
hold him as a hot knife blade is applied to a wound suffered in an
earlier battle.

It was produced in the U.S. circa 1965. Does that sound familiar?
