I'm looking for two or three (or more!) non-toxic dry cleaners within walking
distance of 800 Pennsylvania Ave. NW, Washington, DC. By "non-toxic,"
I mean dry cleaners that do not use perchloroethylene ("perc");
ideally, they would use the newer carbon-dioxide cleaning method, but
I'd accept cleaners with environmentally friendly, non-toxic solvents too.
Thanks! |

anon250 -- I remembered your question when I saw this article in today's Washington Post: Washington Post: Eco-Friendly Dry Cleaning (4/17/05), page M8 http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A55218-2005Apr14.html (If you haven't already done so, you may need to register with the site -- at no charge -- to access the article.) It is not intended to be an exhaustive list of "green" cleaners, and none are within walking distance from 800 Pa. Ave, NW -- except possibly 1513 U St., NW (if a two-mile walk counts). However, I hope that it is of some interest to you anyway. |
