There are few non-proprietary databases that go that far back for
stocks.  One of the best requires checking more than 25 dates for each
month -- an enormous task.  Unfortunately the Over-the-Counter market
didn't show highs/lows over the year or the previous 52-week period
either -- so we don't know how Roadway Express has performed over
recent months or weeks.

It would take about 8 hours to track the Roadway stock quotes without
access to a proprietary database like Compustat or the Center for
Reearch on Security Prices (CRSP).  Let me suggest instead that a
researcher give you Jan. 2, 1974 and Jan. 31, 1974 prices for Roadway;
then similar beginning-of-month and end-of-month prices for February,
1983.
