Goal: identify a musician/band and a CD of said musician/band based on
foggy memories of the CD's cover art.
Recently I recalled an image that I always wanted to track down. I saw
it in a new&used music store in Delaware sometime between 1997-2000,
although the image could date from before then.
It was a CD album cover, a color photo of a man with what I recall as
grey/white/silver/very pale blond hair leaning with one shoulder
against/or standing by a brick building. He was young-to-middle-aged,
30's to 40's I'd say, his hair must either have gone grey/white
prematurely, or he dyed it. He was facing to the left, I think (facing
the spine of the CD case) so that you saw his profile and was wearing
dark clothing. No hats or anything. Hair went down to the back of his
neck, almost like a mullet but more stylish. He seemed to be in
mid-stride, or standing with his knee out to support him. Rugged
looks, perhaps. He certainly didn't fill the whole cover, I'd say that
in relative height to the height of the cover, he was only an
inch-to-2 inches high. According to a picture on the back of the CD
case (in which this man appeared far uglier - because the picture was
taken head-on and not in profile), he is a member of the band.
The music section in the store this was located in was "local bands".
It could have truly been local or it could have been misfiled. I
remember "Jimmie's Chicken Shack" to also be in this section. "King
Norris" may have also been located in this section. Local could have
meant anywhere from New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware,
Virginia or perhaps it was misfiled. As far as type of music, it
wasn't rap, and I doubt it was country. Some type of
rock/alternative/pop, I think.
I may revisit the store to search and harass the salespeople at some
point, but I doubt I will find it again there. Perhaps you guys can
have some fun with the search. |
