I have a high traffic server and need to branch out to multiple servers to handle the load. I know there are hardware and software solutions for this. I would like an overview with positives and negatives of all the popular solutions. My main concern: The website has a very active mysql database that is updated by the end users almost every second of the day. I need to figure out how to setup multiple servers and handle these constant database updates. I don't see how I could have multiple servers and still keep the integrity of the database updates between the servers (obviously there is a way to do this, just don't know how). I would like someone to privide me as many details about server networks and how to handle active databases over these networks. Thanks! |

The feature you are looking for is called 'replication'. I do not personally use MySQL so I can't help you. It may be built in, or it may be a package available from sourceforge or some other website. HTH, Andy |
