Are you speaking of Social Security disability payments? |

Do you mean "social security" strictly as the government program, or are you using it more broadly, such as company pension or profit sharing plans and/or IRA's as well? In particular, I wonder if you were thinking of the following: IRS Rule 72(t)"allows for penalty free, early withdrawals from retirement accounts. This allows you to begin receiving money from your retirement accounts before you turn age 59 1/2 without the normal 10% penalty." http://www.finance.cch.com/sohoApplets/Retire72T.asp That CCH site also has a calculator you can use to calculate the withdrawals. This has nothing to do with Social Security, though, as we now know it. This may help other researchers to pin down your question a little better, though. |

It's strictly a "government program". I had seen an article a few years ago discussing the issue yet I'm not sure of the minimum age or minimum amount invested. |
