Hi,

I'm looking for a few good job descriptions to help me complete one I'm writing.

The position does look at what are the qualities of companies being
acquired and merged or only acquired and size up the human capital and
see where the weaknesses and strengths are and try to come up with a
better plan for the post acquisition phase.

The role also does involve looking at the business and its revenues
and costs and work at identifying what's done right and promote that
in the post acquisition plan and what's done badly and get rid of it
as much as possible. The role also does require the ability to tie up
benefits and compensation of key people to them reaching key goals and
assuring they remain in the organization and work on propagating their
knowledge to alternative staff so it doesn't become risky for them to
leave.

These are hints, the job description can be as close as possible to
what I've clarified, but of course I don't expect you to find be
something that would fit like a glove. :-)

Thank you.

@Mao

Is this 'real life' - or a college assignment ?

In real life briefings like that would be purely verbal
( well in my experience )

There is a lot to be said for the Ghengis Khan school of management practice
- swift, brutal - and sorted.

Hi, Frde,

It's for real life and I do agree with the frightened chicken theory.
It's usually done in a full day session with everyone in a room, no
ties and no formalities.. a workshop and get all their questions
answered and decisively so with everyone of the responsible seniors
there committed to come out of it with most questions and concerns
addressed realistically and frankly.

Nope, this is a position at a company that acquires and merges
companies selling them later down the road after restructuring them
bring up their value after a few years preparing them to be sold off
at a much higher premium having achieved the goals to arrive at the
intended premium selling price.

Very interesting

Sounds like a Private Equity Turnaround operation
- dross stripping rather than asset stripping

- or more tactfully: 'asset retention'

Nice work.
