Hi threepoint,

If the URL is named somethingonline.com, then Spanish speaking
people type exactly that. If it is called algoenlinea.com, that is
what is typed. As you know, one must enter the correct name of the URL
to arrive at the desired site.

As far as Spanish speaking people using the term "enlinea" within
their domain name, yes, they do.

  Examples are:

This site is in English (???)
http://www.enlinea.co.uk/cgi-bin/ksearch/ksearch.cgi?terms=&p=1&help=1&display=5&sort=Matches

http://www.guiaenlinea.cl/

http://www.asana-enlinea.org/

As far as speaking about being online, most Spanish speakers say "en
linea" for being online.

"estaba en linea " = He/she/I was online

"cuando estoy en linea" = When I'm online
http://www.uvelazquez.com/web/p.pro?p=524

If I were naming a web site URL(domain name) for Spanish speakers, I
would use the term "...enlinea.com" ... otherwise "online" might get
pronounced as "ohn leen eh" :-)

Hope this answers your question. If not, please ask for clarification,
before rating, and I will respond ASAP.
