I own a silver bud vase in the art nouveau style purchased at an antique faire in England in the 1980's. The hallmark is a little difficult to make out but there is a "lion", a "shield" and and a lower case "h" There appears to be in clockwise fashion, starting at 9 o'Clock a "W", an "H" [at 12 o'clock], a "CO" at 3, and an "Ld" at 6. Would like to know more about the maker, date and origin thanks Kevin Kelleher |

This page may help you further clarify the purity, location and date of your vase. http://www.925-1000.com/british_marks.html Each city has a chart of date marks (the letters and their backgrounds)....e.g., here is the London chart: http://www.925-1000.com/dlLondon.html I'll leave it to someone else to zero in on the maker. But this at least may give you a starting point on the date and place and help you describe it further if necessary. Good luck. |
