Question ID: 506782
I own a silver bud vase in the art nouveau style purchased at an
antique faire in England in the 1980's. The hallmark is a little
difficult to make out but there is a "lion", a "shield" and and a
lower case "h"
There appears to be in clockwise fashion, starting at 9 o'Clock a "W",
an "H" [at 12 o'clock], a "CO" at 3, and an "Ld" at 6.

Would like to know more about the maker, date and origin
thanks

This page may help you further clarify the purity, location and date of your vase.

http://www.925-1000.com/british_marks.html

Each city has a chart of date marks (the letters and their
backgrounds)....e.g., here is the London chart:

I'll leave it to someone else to zero in on the maker. But this at
least may give you a starting point on the date and place and help you
describe it further if necessary. Good luck.
