For your benefit, and that of others, I'd like to point out a couple
of things about the use of Google Answers to shorten the "homework
curve".
1) This is a research service. For some questions (ie, "Where can I
buy teapot 'X' in the continental US?") the research results in a
specific answer. For other questions, such as yours, an adequate
answer could not be anything other than a link to a reference work or
text book, such as the one your course is taught from.
2) This is copyrighted material. All answers posted are the property
of Google Answers, and is subject to the usual rules inherent in the
use of copyrighted materials. In other words, if you use the
information posted here in your schoolwork, you are required to cite
it in an appropriate, established format. Failure to do so may
consitute plagiarism or copyright infringement.
3) This is a forum which is open to public view. Over time, GA will
become a rather large knowledgebase. With the possible exception of
Cliff's Notes, this will be the easiest place for any educator to
check for academic dishonesty of various stripes. It would require
nothing more than a keyword search for any prof, however
technologically disinclined, to cross-check his course against GA.
Please note, I do not offer these comments as criticism or sarcasm.
As the husband of a student, I am well aware of current academic
workloads. These are, however, important points to bear in mind.
Respectfully,
