The Nissan dealer wants around $80 for a tailgate latch for my 2000
Nissan Frontier King Cab pickup VIN 1N6DD2659YC385088 Type 31 four
cylinder 2 WD. Apparently the same latch was used in most Nissan
pickups from 2000 to 2003. I guess they changed them then,  because a
plastic part in them broke, as happened to me. Can someone find me a
source?  A suggestion to go to a wrecking yard won't be considered an
answer. Neither will a reference to a car parts website, unless that
site has been checked out and an affirmative answer obtained as to
availability and price of part.
