There's this horror film I saw as a kid that scared the hell out of
me. It was about this psycho that looked like Lou Ferrigno who went to
this house in the middle of nowhere and started killing the folks who
lived there.

Some scenes I remember:

A guy's leaning over the engine of his car while fixing it. The psycho
dives on top of the bonnet and crushes him.

A lady stabs the psycho in the back with a kitchen knife, but he
doesn't die.

Two policemen shoot him full of holes, and, right at the end of the
film, the psycho opens his eyes!

What is the name of this film?

Could the psycho who looked like Lou Ferrigno have been Jack
O'Halloran?

I have a film in mind, but have only vague recollections of its plot
(although I definitely remember the unkillable madman opening his eyes
after being shot full of holes by police.) If Jack O'Halloran is your
looney, I think your movie is "Hero and the Terror," and I'll write it
up as an answer.

I checked out your answer, 'The Hero and the Terror'. I remember that
film; at the end Norris kicks the psycho into a well. The last scene
is a slow descent down to the bottom of the well, where the psycho
jumps up to show he isn't dead. So that is not the film.

OK, it's not 'Hero and the Terror', and it's not 'Silent Rage'. The
film did not star Chuck Norris; in fact the main star (other than the
psycho) was a female lead.

you are confusing "Hero & the Terror" with "Silent rage"
In "Hero" the killer gets it when Chuck Norris throws him trough
the glass roof of a concert hall.
