all you need is a converter now, i think you mean ACC (itunes) file to mp3.

http://www.softe.net/ <-- this converter does it all for you.

is all the music i buy on itunes in this aac format and thus can be
converted to mp3 format? because the www.softe.net suggested said
that they can only convert aac files as long as it is not protected in
some way...

so im afraid that i spend money on itune songs only to not be able to
convert them for non-ipod players

help?

to be honest, i dont know what file u got from your itunes, but
usually they are ACC file and i really dont know if your files has
protection or not, you can download the software and try. the software
is free to trial so nothing to worry about.

Ive now downloaded both of these software trials youve suggested and
neither of them will find m4p files to convert to mp3 files

Not the most convenient way, but you can burn them to a CD and them
use iTunes to rip them to MP3.

at this point if u can burn them to cd and rip them back mp3 this
probably u have done the job,i guess u can convertto mp3 and store in
the hard disk
without burning them to cd.

this is my final suggestion

  http://www.tunebite.com/index.php

tunebite runs in the background on your Windows PC. When you play back
a piece of music, tunebite automatically re-records the song. you can
download the free trial in the web site. if u like this program you
can send an email to ray.lamode@gmail.com before u buy it, i can tell
u somemore information about the full version. if this program still
cant help u then i have to say sorry.

Music from itunes is in a copyright protected mp4 format. Having the
same player you do has given me some insight on this problem. The
software itself that came with the player comes with a convertion
software that does not support the m4p or acc or real type music
files. If you absoultely have to use itunes to get your music, use the
all sound recorder xp. I have used this program and found it wonderful
except that it costs 29.95 to download the full version. If you want
to convert for free, which is always better, downgrade your version of
itunes from 4.7 to 4.6. If you have 4.6, you are lucky and have it
already just download a program called hymn which will convert your
files from m4p to mp3 which your zen will support.
http://www.gates-of-hell.com/Tutorials/m4p%20to%20mp3.asp, this is a
tutorial on how to do the conversion. Personally, I hate itunes with a
passion and I went to musicmatch which has just as big a library as
itunes. If you have to use itunes for your music fix, this should
work. Since I'm a student, I have to go whatever I can to get free
music, such as pepsi and itunes. If you go to Carl's Jr., they are
doing an instant win download from musicmatch if you buy a 44oz. soda.
If you buy from itunes, musicmatch is the same price and Walmart is
only .79 cents a song through your windows media player. Hope this
helps.
