Diarrhoea is often caused by dysfunction of the normal balance between
fluid absorption and secretion in the gut. With the help of diagrams
first describe the cellular mechanisms involved in generating both
isotonic fluid secretion and absorption in the intestine. Then detail
how defects in these transport processes can lead to osmotic or
secretory diarrhoea.

Dear Scriptor

I came across this question (along with a couple of others) on a
textbook, but unfortunately there are no answers to them on the
textbook. I'm just trying to compare the answers you guys have with
mine, that?s all. I'm not sure if this constitutes "homework or exam
questions" but I think I'm just trying to get a feedback on the
answers I had. Cheers.
