I want to buy a Aqua 18' x 48" Simple Set Pool to put in my backyard.
But my back yard is just dirt and someone told me the pool would make
the dirt sink so I couldn't do it. The pool is only $250 so I don't
really want to spend a ton of money to buy somethng to put under it.
Do you know what I can put under it so it doesn't sink that's fairly
inexpensive? Or is it fine just to put the pool on top of the dirt?
Thank you.

Hi smellykelly,

What type of dirt will it be sitting on?
If you're not sure, you can dig up a small
section and take it to your local gardening
store. Someone should be able to identify
it there.

Hello smellykelly-ga,

I?ve found several links that give you detailed information about
setting up your above ground pool. Be sure to read the epinions
reviews by people who have set up the same model pool as you?re
planning to buy. All indications are that it is essential that you
level the ground. The soil content is not a significant issue as
compared to making sure that the ground is level.

Best wishes for summer fun.

ABOVE GROUND POOL FAQS

4. How long does it take to install a pool? How many people are needed?
Above ground pools take approximately two days to install. One full
day to complete the ground preparations and another to construct the
pool. It is recommended that you have four adults. Please note: oval
pools tend to be more labour-intensive and, depending on the style of
the pool, it may be beneficial to have a professional installer do the
job.

5. Can I install my pool directly on grass or fill?
No. You must remove all sod from your pool site. In addition, you must
erect your pool on levelled, solid, virgin soil. You cannot erect your
pool on fill.

A Swimming Pool You Can Put in the Trunk of Your Car

While in-ground pools are the ones many typically dream of, their cost
can leave us high and dry. But who says you have to dig deep? You can
set a pool on the ground itself and be ready to swim in less than 30
minutes.

They completed the project at their Fresno home in less than two days.
The only preparation was digging out a few inches of dirt to make the
ground level under the pool bottom.
