I created a database in Filemaker for tracking what documents are in
what drawers of which file cabinet in my office.

What about the Word and Excel documents on my server. Can I have a
filemaker field that is a link to a file (OR A FOLDER) on my server.
The folder part is important.

It must be easy enough for my secretary to do.

I have a Windows 2000 server that is mapped as the M drive on my
Windows XP workstation. I use ver 5 of Filemaker Pro.

Also, can FileMaker query the file’s properties to find out what a
file’s size or last date modified is?
