WinTasks Process Library

wab - wab.exe - Process Information

Process File: wab or wab.exe
Process Name: Microsoft Address Book
I backed up my wab emails on my XPSP2, but now I need them, the
system cannot retrieve them and advises to run 'wab.exe/?'Nothing
happens. How can I get my emails back? The internet only says:
wab.exe (Windows Address Book) is a part of the Windows Operating
system and is used to store addresses, contact details and e-mail
addresses for use by such programs like Outlook. This program is
important for the stable and secure running of your computer and
should not be terminated.

Hi!!

Try reinstalling or repairing Outlook express (wab.exe file must be in
the OE application folder):

If this works, let me know in order to post this in the answer box.

Livio, thanx for your answer, but it is not that simple. I created a
backup file on C:\ for the wab, but the system says:'parameters
command line invalid'. I double checked OE6, as you suggested. In the
backup file I can see all my 100 or so addresses, with as icon an open
book, but when I click on it, it doesn't recognise the
parameter...What to do?

Unfortunately I did not find another suggestion to fix your wab file,
may be downloading another mail client program (like Thunderbird or
Foxmail) and importing the file there could work, then you can
re-export them again to OE.

Foxmail works well with wab files (I used it in the past). Just open
the client program go to Tools --> Address Book --> at the Address
Book go to Tools --> Import --> Wab file

Download it from here:

Good luck!!
