The latest population data from the Census Bureau for age and gender
is available here:

According to the above files, the number of girls in the US in August
2004 who were under 13 years of age was 26,656,020.

The specific age breakoouts are as follows:

0	2,060,314
1	2,048,904
2	2,049,504
3	2,069,732
4	2,004,821
5	1,970,933
6	1,989,758
7	1,982,555
8	2,036,219
9	2,059,324
10	2,089,777
11	2,125,544
12	2,168,635
