Question ID: 508395
Is it possible and under what conditions may a person with an
implanted defibrillator obtain a DOT/CDL? I am a 36yoM with a cardiac
arrythmia who has had an implanted defibrillator for 15+yrs. I have
never lost consciousness with this device, but it has delievered shock
therapy to my heart. I drive everywhere, and I of course have a
drivers license, however, I suspect a higher medical standard may
apply with respect to a CDL. This is in regard to a cargo transport
job.
