WHAT I WANT: PATENTS RELATED TO VIDEO SECURITY
I want to find patents related to *video* security.  Video security
for me spans camera based security systems; Computer algorithms for
tracking people, vehicles, people pushing carts; Computer vision
methods of background segmentation, background differencing and
tracking; Computer vision methods for object identification ? objects
like suitcases, bags;  Vision algorithms that find, recognize,
identify faces and where faces are looking; Automatic control of pan
tilt zoom cameras etc.

I?m putting up the max amount of money because this search is
somewhat tedious (that?s why I?m paying) but nevertheless needs a
brainy searcher who can figure out the correct keywords to search on
(see some examples below), and who can intelligently filter applicable
content from non-applicable.  Where to search is clear ? the US Patent
database http://www.uspto.gov/patft/index.html  (look in both issued
patents and published applications ? and it?s best if you learn to use
their advanced search if you don?t want to be absolutely swamped with
nonsense results).  Other sources might be patents sited by security
companies or by computer vision research groups or patents in foreign
patent offices may be useful, but US patents are primary followed by
European. I?ll settle for only US patents or may bonus if you go above
and beyond.

intelligent filtering on your part to reduce the vast array of
possible results to relevant results.  You can refine your keywords as
you get experience with finding patents and taking further keywords
from there.

Abstract
Control over access by individuals to a group of high security
facilities and zones within such facilities is accomplished with use
of biometric readers at each access door as well as a quick ID reading
device that is not required to contain biometric information.
Enrollment at a secure facility where biometrics are maintained for
each individual establishes a multipart data file for each individual,
each part of which may be accessed by different actors in the system.
The individuals allowed security to various facilities can only be in
a single facility at a given time and also control their own schedule.

I'm just asking you to copy from patents which are supposed to be
public documents, listed on a government site that I pay for with my
taxes.  Patents are explicitly supposed to be open information,
letting others know how something was done in return for a goverment
granted monopoly on the use of that information for a period of time
-- I don't think that there is a copyright issue with this but I'm not
a legal person.

One way might be to just list the index and email me the longer results.

The problem isn't about public access but on copying information as
such with the data at the government website. Since it is their data,
not anyone can just publish it to a different website.

Ok I will try again. Please check upon this page once in a while in
case I wil have some clarifications.

Since this might a very long research and there will be lots of patent
records involved. Furthermore, I cannot guarantee that all related
records will be found since we will never be sure if we have exhausted
all the possibilites.

My request would be ,can you give me a reasonable number of records
that you will consider as fair to the price you are paying so that
there will be no unmet expectations later on.

Only market conflict could possibly find *all* the relevant patents, I
don't expect all, just a good effort -- I am hoping though to not get
lots of entries that clearly don't apply.

How many I expect ... hard to say.  $1 per?  It really depends on how
hard you find it once you get tuned up on how to extract the relevent
ones.  Do they start falling out by the 10s or dribble out by 1s?? Let
me know how it is going.  I will definitely tip for good effort.

If you start finding that rather than being a couple hundred relevant,
there are a couple thousand, I may consider a "Part B" add on
question.

I am now on the Patent Applications database. It seems that even with
Patent Applications, there are similalry titled applications by the
same companies. But they have different patent numbers so I will
assume they are different. My take is that these applications may have
very small varieties that the companies or individuals are just making
sure they cover all the bases.

I included them in the list. Will this be fine with you? 

Update: I have already assembled a list of 50+ at this point.
Including the ones with similar titles but different numbers.

findings", additional claims etc to the original patent.  So they
should be included.

the published applications seem to all have slipped by one:

The first one 20050074177 does not correspond to it's link, but
instead to the link of the one below, marked as 20050068429 and so on.
 The links to the issued patents seem to be OK.
