Hi landrorocks,
I'm a native Vietnamese speaker and would like to translate for you.
However, I need to know the name of the bride's family. Are they
spelled Lư or Ly?

Hi again,

Sorry, the above link should be:
http://www.ap-printing.com/forms.asp

In addition to the information you provided, you would probably need:
1) The position of the bride with respect to her siblings (oldest
daughter, middle child, etc.)
2) Same with the groom
3) The full names of the parents
4) The wedding date in the Chinese lunar calendar

There's an online translator at http://www.saigon.com/~vietdict/index.html.

Unfortunately the online translator is only good for word-to-word
translation and doesn't handle complete sentences very well.

Hi Landorocks,
May I suggest that you try the online translator. I know, the results
probably can't be trusted for something as important as a wedding
invitation, but then you would have something for a new question with
subject line that let readers know that it was just a small task.
There must be commenters fluent in Vietnamese, but didn't look at
this question because it sounded like bigger job.

Maybe: "Help! Is this correct Vietnamese for a wedding invitation?"

Anyone who knew, would probably have the pride in his/her language to
correct or rewrite it - using the above English text that you would
also provide.

(Oh, I would include the fathers' names: "Mr. and Mrs. xxx Ly/Smith",
and I suppose you just omitted the addresses for the wedding and
return of RSVP because these will be in English - and shouldn't
appear on G-A anyway.)

Good luck and all the best to the couple!

Sorry about that, but maybe you coul still use the words and explain
that you know it is all wrong, just to get someone interested. ...
More good luck!
