You may want to contact a Mortgage Broker in Arizona and ask if they are familiar with International Mortgages. Your local Canadian bank may have some resources, try TD Bank, as they have TD Waterhouse in the US (GMAC does Mortgages in Canada and the US as well so they may be of assistance). Because laws differ from state to state and from lender to lender they should be experienced enough to tell you what you need to do step by step rather than guessing and have a deal fall through for not being fully prepared. You may also want to find someone else who is a Canadian who has purchased property in the US and ask how they did it. First hand experience is probably best. |
