Scott Snyder has also done apartments in Manhattan, a saltbox on Cape
Cod and a residence in Boston?and he is currently renovating a
plantation house in West Virginia and a golf clubhouse in Florida.
Assisted by a staff of 21 at his offices in Palm Beach and New York,
Snyder creates interiors informed by classicism and 19th-century
style. "I take traditional elements and tailor them to the individual
tastes of my clients." he explains. Inspired, he says, by Mark
Hampton, Snyder also emphasizes balance and proportion: "Hampton
proved the merits of symmetry," he explains. "He managed to design
traditional interiors that didn't look stagnant. Design can look new
when done with a sure hand."

Grand Estates: Luxury Living and Lifestyles in the Palm Beaches
Scott Snyder handled the interior design work
?In early 2002, Worth Builders of Palm Beach completed work on the
restoration of a John L. Volk-designed home on Everglades Island. John
and Andrea Stark of New York, longtime visitors to Palm Beach,
purchased the Island Drive home three years ago. The Starks hired
Smith & Moore, Architects to redesign the house. Scott Snyder handled
the interior design work and Mario Nievara redesigned the landscaping
and exterior hardscape areas.?

?Warner opened his office in 1966; today, numbering 11 people, the
firm is involved in a variety of California commissions, including
residential designs and remodels in Santa Barbara, Manhattan Beach and
Laguna Beach, as well as renovations and new buildings for the
Monterey Peninsula Country Club in Pebble Beach and a redesign of the
La Jolla Country Club. Something the architect would like to do but
hasn't yet is to explore the use of new glass technology in his
designs. "I'd love to put a glass floor in a house," he says. Another
concept that appeals to him is creating buildings with blank façades,
which is what he did for his own house in Montecito. "Blank façades
create a lot of intrigue and interest. The interior has to fulfill the
promise set up by the exterior."
