My question involves the print out of financial statements.I have the
title of the statement and the account names in the first column
followed by 12 months in the next twelve, each month has the
corresponding year right underneath it. I have many years like this,
all one beside one another.

Example:
Earnings statement for the year ending December 31 2004

Month January February ...
Year 2004 2004

Sales XX XX
Expenses XX XX

Using the Group function (Data -> Group and create plan), I would like
to use the title and account names in the first column for every year
I want to print out. My problem is that I can?t figure out how to
change the year in the title (Earnings statement for the year ending
December 31 200X) so that is equal to the year showing.

I figure some sort of IF formula depending on what year/view is
showing could do the job but I don?t know how to do it. Any other idea
permitting me to do this would be appreciated.

I'm not sure if I understand right... but... if your title is in a
cell on the spreadsheet rather than in the Header/Footer feature you
could try this....

Put your title in the cell as usual
"Earnings statement for the year ending December 31 "
then have another cell close to the end of this title and use =XX
where XX is the cell that holds the year value!

But you could mean something very different!

Hi steveinuk,

Thanks for the comment.

I already have it set up as you propose, but the problem is when I
''fold'' one year, say 2004, the year appering in the title is still
2004, when I should see 2005. This is why I have to tell Excel to take
the year showing somehow, and not always the one in XX cell.
